Eileen Fisher's Purl is a sock bootie in black stretch knit that hugs the ankle, set on a low 1.75 inch block heel. The leather lining and leather sole give it a polished finish under the soft knit, and it pulls on with no zipper. The knit follows the shape of the ankle for a sleek, modern line that looks especially refined in solid black from head to toe. Wear it with cropped wide trousers or a long knit skirt, so the clean ankle line shows.

- Stand on a sheet of paper, heel against a wall, wearing the socks you'd wear with the shoe.
- Mark the tip of your longest toe and measure from the wall to the mark (do both feet; use the longer one).
- Find that length below. Between two sizes? Go up half a size — most of our styles run true to size, and any size note on the product page overrides the chart.
