Bettye Muller studied fine arts, but her love for fashion and design grew while she lived in London. She found the notion of designing her first pair of shoes and selling it to local shops. Then, Muller had the sudden opportunity to visit Milan — too bad that can’t happen to us! Several of her styles were made in Italy, which was the boost she needed.
Muller traveled to New York where she was bold enough to peddle shoes and credits John Higdon as her early mentor. She began working in the shoe business and started designing footwear for Perry Ellis, Marc Jacobs, Henri Bendel and L’Emporio. But in 1998, she finally launched her own label, which was showcased at Bergdorf Goodman. At this time, people began to recognize her brand that mixed grace with the edge of an athlete because she was a former ice skater.
Although Muller designs in Manhattan, she travels across the world, even on a monthly basis. Visiting different destinations influences her designs. Each collection shows her consumers the places she’s been, and she’s old school when it comes to designing. With her inspiration page and tools set up in her Manhattan dining room, she loves creating shoes that are as luxurious as they are quirky. She goes on production trips to ensure quality and that her designs are as beautiful and special as she imagines.
Whether you’re searching for Bettye Muller espadrilles or sandals, her line of footwear is gorgeous yet comfortable. They help you stand out while also being able to withstand your hectic lifestyle.
What about Bettye Muller pumps or Bettye Muller sandals? She uses luxurious fabrics that she gathers from her travels — from Lake Como and Morocco to South America. You'll find different linens, silks, plaids, calf hair and exquisite Italian leather in her collection, and she tests each shoe before it’s produced. Muller combines classic elements with playful twists of comfort. One of her signature designs is the suede wedge espadrille sandal that is made in Spain — it has been a brand staple for years.
