Established in 1985, Via Spiga was named after a main street in Italy — Via Della Spiga, Milan. It was a famous Milan shopping district, and it was a time when the city was gaining recognition as a fashion capital. Women saw a shift in careers and society, so Via Spiga did well in capturing the moment.
The Italian footwear brand began creating shoes that appealed to the modern, traveling woman, made from sophisticated Italian craftsmanship at accessible price points.
From what started in the mid-1980s as a brand that focused on the silhouette and construction of footwear, Via Spiga now emphasizes the combination of technical fabrics and superior materials. Whether you’re drooling over the Via Spiga heels or Via Spiga pumps, attention to detail, incredible craftsmanship and manufacturing are at the forefront of their designs.
The brand takes pride in the love that goes into each process of collaborating and designing footwear. They source fine leather from Italy and work hard at fine-tuning the construction process of each shoe collection. In fact, more than 60 pairs of hands are a part of the creation of each shoe. Not too many other companies can say the same!
Half of the footwear construction occurs in Italy at their original factory that helped launch the brand. But throughout the decades, Via Spiga found that particular areas throughout the world are best for specific collections of shoes. They partner with different manufacturers to get the perfect silhouette, materials and craftsmanship. They aren’t afraid to branch out.
